Celebrating Black Excellence at Monroe Community College
February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of Black folks past and present. At Monroe Community College, we recognize that Black excellence is not just history—it’s happening every day,
Throughout the month, we will be sharing Black History Month Spotlights, highlighting the voices, experiences, and impact of Black faculty and staff across MCC. These stories reflect the power of representation, the depth of cultural heritage, and the many ways our colleagues contribute to the success of our students and community.
This initiative is supported by the African American Affinity Group (3AG), which fosters connection, advocacy, and professional growth for Black employees at MCC. 3AG is committed to uplifting Black voices and strengthening our community through dialogue, mentorship, and cultural celebration.
We invite you to read, reflect, and celebrate with us as we honor the brilliance and resilience of Black history—both in the past and in the making. Please stay tuned for our weekly series highlighting our dynamic colleagues!
