Best Practices for Facilitating Discussions on Controversial Topics
Topics that are relevant to students’ lives affect them personally and may produce emotional responses in the classroom. Yet, these very reactions can cause students and faculty to shy away from an honest confrontation of the issues. Join your colleagues in this TCC conversation that will address how to best navigate the complexities of these discussions. Rich Stevens (Biology) and Susan Belair (Sociology) will be on hand to share their best practices.
