TCC Gratitude Series, Day 10: Faculty Spotlight on Laura Bond

We hope you have been enjoying reading these student-written kudos as much as we have. For the last day of our gratitude series, we will be spotlighting a faculty member who received nine nominations from her students. Thank you, Laura Bond, for inspiring those around you, especially your students!

  • Laura Bond, Mathematics
    • She really wants us to succeed and works with her students to do so. I was very intimidated at the beginning of the semester because I am not strong in math, but I have honestly come to enjoy statistics. She cultivates a chill learning environment that truly makes it not only fun to learn but lessens anxiety!
    • Professor Bond is sweet funny and makes the class fun! She's a great and supportive professor and makes you feel comfortable with asking for help!! She's flexible and willing to help as much as possible!!
    • She is amazing at teaching. She is very friendly and understanding. While learning under her, I have been able to find my rhythm with school and I am also able to pass very well. She is extremely laid back but still manages to do the work. She is very compassionate and giving. I would love for her to win this!
    • Professor Bond is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. She takes feedback with no ego and is willing to change up her teaching to compensate for the class, she is always willing to help and go further in her teachings, she never makes you feel bad or incompetent no matter what your learning style is, she’s just a great teacher. I personally am not someone who enjoys math, however her class is my favorite class this semester. She does a great job at teaching the material and is also just extremely kind and understanding. I would want no one else to teach me math ever again.
    • She makes coming to class exciting! She is by far my favorite professor & with this being my first semester at MCC, her class helped me to foster some awesome relationships with my amazing new friends. She encourages to talk to each other, to reach out to her for help, & her lively energy makes to material engaging & easier to comprehend. Overall a 15/10 prof.
    • Professor Bond is one of the best math instructors I have had in a while. She makes class interesting and fun while still teaching the material. If anyone has a question she goes out of her way to help you understand the problem and make sure you know how to do it. She always has a positive attitude and it's my favorite class, which is surprising because I have hated math my whole life.
    • Professor Bond has been amazing at responding to my emails right away. I travel often for work and she has released a few tests & modules early for me so that I can stay on track. Each of her modules come with a print out of guided notes that she goes over in each of her videos. This process is so helpful!!!! It's tough to take such hard classes online and not be able to raise your hand. The way professor Bond puts in this effort to make sure each chapter has notes that she makes a video for makes it so much less stressful and easy to understand. Thanks Professor!!!!
    • They are very understanding if you're out sick and can’t make it to class. They will take the time out their day to make sure you can catch up and understand what we went over.
    • She always has her student’s best interests at heart, makes lessons lively, funny and engaging while still making us understand each concept thoroughly.
