The Tutoring and Academic Assistance Center Kicks Off the First Workshop in Our Writing Series TODAY

This spring, the Tutoring and Academic Assistance Center (TAAC) will be hosting an Academic Coaching and Writing Workshop Series at Brighton and Downtown.
We would like to welcome all TODAY, February 8 for Part I of our first writing workshop, "What is Writing Anxiety?," which can be accessed both in-person at the Brighton campus and online via Zoom. For Part II, "Planning Out the Writing Process," join us again, TOMORROW, February 9 at Brighton or via Zoom. (Please note, these workshops will be offered Downtown next week. Details to come closer to dates of respective events.) *Attend in-person or online to be entered into our workshop raffle for an Amazon gift card!
Part I: What is Writing Anxiety?: Writing in college can be overwhelming and stressful. This workshop offers solutions for students who may be experiencing negative feelings about their writing and having trouble getting started. Do you know why you procrastinate? Writing anxiety can be the culprit behind your procrastination. Learn how to understand and manage writing anxiety, and become more confident in yourself as a writer!

Part II. Planning Out the Writing Process: Do you ever wait until the last minute to start a writing assignment? Learn how to make a schedule for writing a paper by breaking an assignment into a series of smaller steps in order to space out the work. Managing your time effectively can reduce stress and allow you to do your best work. Learn how to break writing into smaller, more manageable goals, and reward yourself in the process!
