Mental Health First Aid Training

The Counseling, Disability, & Health Services department is excited to offer additional Mental Health First Aid Training opportunities for faculty and staff.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an eight-hour course that teaches participants on ways to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health illnesses and substance use disorders.  The training provides the necessary skills to provide initial help and support to others.

Mental Health First Aid: What You Learn

For this semester only, we have funding set aside from Higher Education Emergency Relief (HEERF) to cover the cost of mental health first aid trainings. The next training sessions offered will be split into two 4-hour sessions, all fully on zoom:

  • April Training:
    Wednesday, April 12th, 12pm to 4pm, &
    Thursday, April 13th, 12pm to 4pm
  • May Training:
    Monday, May 8th, 12pm to 4pm, &
    Wednesday, May 10th, 12pm to 4pm

If you have any questions or are interested in attending either the April or May Mental Health First Aid training, please email me at azamiara1@monroecc.edu and let me know which session you are interested in joining.  Please register quickly to reserve your spot.
