Liberty Partnerships Program students tour Keuka College

Twenty-two students from across five Rochester high schools visited Keuka College during their spring break. MCC Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) hosted the event for students ranging from seventh to twelfth grade.

LPP students attended several presentations as part of the visit. Admissions representatives spoke about Keuka's exciting programs and opportunities, including popular majors and Field Period, which provides experiential learning throughout the entire course of study. A counselor from the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) introduced many of our students to HEOP/EOP programs for the first time. Current Keuka students provided first-hand accounts of HEOP’s many benefits. A panel of staff and students spoke in detail about student life on campus, including student leadership and programming hosted by the Office of Inclusion and Belonging. LPP students gained a wealth of knowledge about Keuka College and the general college experience.

Two big highlights from the trip were the walking tour of Keuka’s gorgeous lakeside campus and the all-you-can-eat dining hall lunch. LPP staff was impressed by the amount of ice cream and frozen treats that 22 students could consume in one meal. The staff was also impressed by the students’ professional demeanor and meaningful engagement with college staff.

Liberty Partnerships Program is funded by the New York State Department of Education.
