TCC: Recognizing Chemistry Adjunct Professors McKechney and Mevs

The Chemistry & Geosciences department would like to highlight the service of two adjuncts, Professors Heather McKechney and Judy Mevs. Professor McKechney has taught all levels of chemistry (introductory, general chemistry, and organic chemistry) and taught both science and non-science majors. In each of her courses, she brings a high level of professionalism and integrates active learning to create an environment that engages and challenges the students.

Professor Mevs has primarily taught the chemistry courses targeting students in pre-health tracks and regularly goes above and beyond for her students and the department. She teaches with patience and a kind heart, engages her students through collaborative learning and real-world applications, and endeavors to connect with students in and out of class. She has created a library of study materials for her students and is always on the lookout for new strategies and best practices.  Judy embodies a real team spirit approach to working with her colleagues. As the department looks for ways to improve the CHE 124 course, her input into lecture and laboratory curriculum has been incredibly valuable.

Professors McKechney and Mevs have been valued Chemistry faculty for over a decade, and the department looks forward to their continued contributions.
