A Call for a Student Commencement Speaker

Apply to be a Student Commencement Speaker!

Monroe Community College’s 60th Commencement Ceremony honoring our 2023 graduates is scheduled for:

  • 7pm
    Thursday, May 25, 2023
    Blue Cross Arena. 

We are seeking a student to be the student speaker at this event. That student will deliver a speech of approximately 5 minutes to the graduating class and their guests. The student speaker will receive coaching on preparing and delivering their speech.

Applications will be accepted through March 17, 2023  at 4:45 pm. Any student who is graduating this May can apply.  Please fill out the application in the link below:

In addition to filling out contact information, the application will ask for a personal statement of 100 words or less describing their personal story at MCC and how it relates to other graduating students.

Once the applications have been collected, a number of students will be asked to audition for the role.

For staff and faculty, if you know of a student who would make a good speaker, please encourage them to apply.
