News from the March MCC Board of Trustees Meeting

The MCC Board of Trustees met on Monday, March 6, 2023, and took the following actions:

  1. Adopted the consent agenda effective March 6, 2023
  2. Accepted operating disbursements totaling $6,370,158.61 for the month of January 2023, subject to final audit. (A detailed listing is available upon request.)
  3. Accepted the Interim Financial Reports as of January 3, 2023
  4. Authorized Purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the month of Janauary 2023
  5. Approved the Annual Financial Report to SUNY for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2022
  6.  Accepted the Annual audit of Monroe Community College for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2022, as conducted by Bonadio & Co., LLP
  7. Adopted the revised “Procurement Conflict of Interest Policy” effective March 6, 2023.
  8.  Approved the reappointment of Non-Contract, Professional Staff, Faculty, and Technical Assistants/Advisors as listed at the ranks and titles indicated for the 2023-2024 academic year or, for 12-month employees, beginning September 1, 2023 and ending August 31, 2024.
  9.  Approved the continuation of the appointment of Chris Piro as Interim Director of Public Safety, Administrative Services, effective March 7, 2023 until the position is filled on a permanent basis or August 31, 2023, whichever is earlier; Mr. Piro will receive an annual 12-month salary of $102,250, prorated based upon his length of service in the interim role.

  • Student Success Dashboard with Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Measurements William Dixon, Director, Research
  • “Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna  provided the President’s Update, which included a report regarding attending the recent ACCT legislative summit with Student Trustee My Linh “Mia” Le and Board Chairman Allen Williams, sharing a update on two public safety incidents that occurred on campus last week, and an overview of positive enrollment projections, Dr. Robin Cole Jr., Economic & Workforce Development & Career Technical Education (EDIWS) on EDIWS activities, Dr. Calvin Gantt, Vice President, Diversity, Equity and Belonging and Executive Director, Downtown Campus on division activities; Greg Hinton, CFO/Vice President, on Administrative Services activities; Dr. Margaret Semmer, Provost & Vice President on Academic Service activities; Gretchen Wood, Vice President, Institutional Advancement and Executive Director, MCC Foundation, on Institutional Advancement activities, and Board of Directors Chair Lori Van Dusen regarding Foundation activities, including the upcoming 25th Annual Gold Star Gala  on April 29th
  • Shared Governance representatives including Student Government Association President Paula Barlow, Faculty Senate President Nadya Pares-Kane, and Dr. Burt-Nanna representing Administration. Support Staff Planning Council did not provide an update
  • Faculty Association President Bethany Gizzi provided an update.
  •  CSEA leaders did not provide an update.
