President Flynn has been appointed to the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Ad Hoc Task Force on Homeland Security. The Task Force will make specific recommendations on short- and long-term AACC actions in the area of homeland security and public safety, and it will aid AACC in making sure that community colleges are recognized as part of America's critical infrastructure network and as a key asset in states and localities as the Bush Administration continues to develop its homeland security strategies. The Task Force will also assist AACC to help community colleges take advantage of opportunities to influence federal policy and programmatic decisions and the federal FY 2005 budget and appropriations.
