In memory of Alan B. Shaw (1942-2002), a long-time professor in the English/Philosophy department, the Writing Center is pleased to announce an MCC student essay award contest adopted from one of Professor Shaw’s favorite English 101 assignments. The essay topic is “Twenty-four Hours to Live” and a certificate and cash prize of $100 will be awarded to the winner.
