Day 4: Clean-Up Tips in the Brightspace Gradebook
Welcome to Day 4 of the 5 days of Brightspace gradebook! This week we will run a series of simple tasks that you can do to check your gradebook to make sure it is functioning properly. If you haven't done some of the steps that we will share this week, it may be a good idea to check your courses now!
The fourth tip is to continue to cleanup your gradebook. To check this, go to the Grades on the navbar and then click the Manage Grades tab. First, check to make sure you have removed any items you are not using this semester. You can disassociate your grade item so that you can remove the grade column. Follow the demo video on how to do this process. Next, if your gradebook is out of order, you can reorder items from the More Actions tab and then choose the Reorder option. Reordering is not a simple drag-and-drop like in Blackboard. You do have to make sure you number the items in the correct order. This is particularly tedious with a long list of items. Using categories can help make reordering a little easier and you can also reorder your categories so it displays in the correct order for your students.
