MCC Represented at Second Annual MuCCC College Theatre Festival

Last weekend, several MCC students represented the college at Rochester’s Multi-use Community Cultural Center (MuCCC) at the Second Annual College Theatre Festival. Two MCC student-written plays were featured: Sweetie by Mike Robin and The Audition by Justin Brown (who also directed and acted in his play). Several student actors performed the featured plays: John Arnold, Tyler Smith, Teddy Blair, Hannah Wiltse, Neilsen Waterman, Marina Cecilia, Amanda Willett, Chris Donohue, Teal Xavier, Rebecca Snow, Erika Auld, and Marie Kalumbwe.

According to the MUCCC website, the goals of this unique festival are, “To provide exposure to young directors, college actors and original work, and to encourage the use of MuCCC as a professional spring board for artists just emerging from training. Each performance represented a variety of schools encouraging intercommunication among theatre artists and educators in the Rochester area.” This festival was especially exciting for MCC, as it was the first theatre festival MCC has participated in since the new Theatre Arts program (TH01) has been implemented at the college. Bravo to the students whose hard work and dedication to the theatre made this festival a great success!
