Dan Dubois inducted to the NJCAA Swimming & Diving Hall of Fame

On February 28th, The NJCAA Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame welcomed its newest member and long-time Monroe Community College Swimming and Diving Head Coach, Daniel Dubois. Dan was inducted at the annual NJCAA National Tournament Banquet a day before the start of the NJCAA Swimming and Diving Meet at the Pearl Street Grill in Buffalo, NY. Dan was introduced by his brother and long-time Associate Head Coach Tim Dubois. Current Monroe Head Coach Dale Pearce also gave an introduction speech. Dubois delivered a fantastic speech with over 230 current NJCAA Swimmer and Diviers looking on as he was presented his Hall of Fame Plaque. Dan's family was there to watch the prestigious recognition. He also led the Monroe Swimmers and Divers in one last cheer before the big meet. Please see his Hall of Fame Speech in the Link Below.

Dan Dubois began his NJCAA Swimming & Diving involvement as a member of Monroe Community College's program.  While competing for the Tribunes, Dubois set a program record in the 1000 and 1650 Freestyle and 400 IM and is still known as one of the best long-distance swimmers to come through the program.

After college, Dubois spent nearly three decades coaching as the Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Head Coach at Monroe CC. Throughout his decorated career, Dubois won a combined 44 NJCAA Region 3 Championships.  At the national meet, Dubois led the Tribunes to claim the Non-Scholarship Team award on 19 occasions.  Dubois coached 62 NJCAA Swimming & Diving All-Americans, 20 individual national champions, and five national record holders.  On top of his many coaching accomplishments, Dubois never lost a regular-season head-to-head meet against an NJCAA Region 3 opponent.

Throughout his career, Dubois received NJCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Coach of the Year honors in 2010 and 2018 and NJCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Coach of the Year recognition in 2000, 2003, 2007, and 2015. Dubois was selected as the NJCAA Region 3 Coach of the Year 17 times.  Dubois was a dedicated member of the NJCAA Swimming & Diving community, serving as the president of the NJCAA Swimming & Diving Coaches Association for 18 years.  In 1981, Dubois was inducted into the Monroe Community College Hall of Fame. After nearly three decades of coaching, Dubois announced his retirement in the spring of 2021 and now continues to be involved at Monroe CC as an adjunct professor.

When you see Dan, please help me congratulate him on an amazing honor and thank him for 25 years of leading an excellent Swimming & Diving Program within Athletics.
