Day 2 of TCC Gratitude Series: Kudos to You, MCC Adjunct Faculty!

This semester has brought with it many opportunities and challenges, but as always, the MCC community has risen to the occasion! Based on the overwhelming number of submissions for our semi-annual request for kudos, we will be highlighting faculty and staff from across the College every day for the last 10 days of classes. Below is just a taste of some of the great work happening at this institution. Thank you, MCC, for all you do for your students and each other.

From students to adjunct faculty members (part II of III):

  • Michael Anthony, Biology
    • When he gives assignments he makes it so they aren’t extremely stressful. He gives us a chance with our grades with lots of extra credit, and works with you when it comes to timelines. He is a very understanding professor, and I enjoy his class.
  • John Banker, Chemistry and Geosciences
    • I really appreciate him taking the time before and or after class to answer my questions and make sure that I understand. He has never rushed me with time either, and is very clear with his explanations.
  • Ann Best, COS
    • Thank you so much, Professor Best, for going above and beyond to make sure I obtained the knowledge I need to be successful in my college courses and pass your class.
  • Raymond Dale, English
    • Thank you all for being an extremely helpful and attentive professor for English. I was always fearful of taking English and didn't do too well in undergrad when I took the course. This time, I not only did really well but I really understood the information and enjoyed learning.
  • Patricia Drumright, English
    • Ms.Drumright is a wonderful teacher. Even though I may not be the best or smartest person in the world she takes the time to have talks with me and help me when I need it. She is very understanding when it comes to complications in my life that will keep me from coming to class. Professor Drumright has a big heart and I see that.
  • Brett Lasser, Business Administration
    • He's an excellent professor. He's fair and he's open. When he's teaching, he brings out the best in us to think outside our normal way of thinking.
  • Gregory Lendeck, Art
    • Mr. Lendeck is very passionate about art and helps bring that same passion to his students. He is more than willing to stay after class to give students more time in the studio. He never tells you exactly what to do but instead helps you find and stay on the right path to bring your art to the next level. He is entertaining and laid back, creating a fun and enjoyable working environment where you feel like you can truly express yourself without fear of being judged.
  • Peter Mikesell, Chemistry
    • Professor Mikesell has gone above and beyond to ensure that us students do well in his class. He has done zoom meetings on weekends to help review for tests. He has gone to the school for additional time to help review as well. When I am visibly struggling, even not related to school, he does his best to lighten the mood with extremely corny jokes.
  • Charlene Miller, Culinary/Hospitality
    • I want to thank you for going above and beyond for me to make sure that I will be successful in my studies and coursework.
  • Mary Mulligan, English
    • She doesn't have an annoying attitude.
  • Colette Quaglia, Art
    • She is very motivational when it comes to my art, understands it, and has introduced me to some amazing techniques and artists. I really learn a lot in her class.
  • Steven Rubenstein, Chemistry
    • Mr. Rubenstein does a remarkable job making sure his students understand the topic of each experiment that we do. The classes, even online, go so smooth and easy that some days we leave early as long as our assignment is done for that period. I enjoy how he makes the experiments fun and he always makes sure he goes around the room to help each group as best as he can.
  • Laurie Rocco, Biology
    • Professor Rocco has been an astonishing leader and teacher throughout my first semester in college. Her kindness and hard work in order for us to succeed has been above and beyond. Not only that, but she never fails to make and our classmates in lab laugh and remember why we are here. She truly cares about her students. She’s understanding yet she knows how hard and tricky some material can get. She wants us all to be the best we can be and it’s crystal clear with her. Professor Rocco has made an imprint on all of us. You always had faith in us in times when we didn’t. You helped me realize how exciting this course truly is. Thank you again for being you and working hard so we can become a better version of ourselves. You’ve made my first year experience worthwhile. There’s always light at the end of the tunnel when you have such professors guiding you. No matter how much I thank you, it is always going to be less than how much you did for me and for the whole class. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I will always remember you.
  • Michael Scrivens, Business
    • Professor Scrivens went above and beyond when he helped us all out with our quizzes and tests, extending time when a student had trouble taking it within the time frame, along with giving us multiple tries, ensuring that we actually learned the material instead of just trying to get through the course. Also, although he has to use a scooter to get around, he still was very helping and ensured that his injury did not slow him down.
  • Ralph Toscano, Accounting
    • Professor Toscano has made my first semester of college incredible! He took time out of his busy schedule to sit down with me outside of class, he answered my emails and phone calls immediately, and always has a smile on his face. When students ask questions in class, Professor Toscano is always willing to repeat the material for the student till their questions are answered. He has a great personality, has great stories, catchy slogans, and makes me laugh even when I'm having a bad day. Thank you Professor Toscano for being a great teacher and a better person!
  • Michael Weisenredar, Culinary
    • Great teacher. Everyone loves him in the late night class!
  • David Williams, Criminal Justice
    • Professor Williams has always treated his students as actual people who also have lives outside of class. He makes learning incredibly interesting, with his real-life experiences and humor. The labs are so fun, and the homework and tests are incredibly fair. Thank you professor for being amazing!
