Phi Theta Kappa Chapter is among the Top 100 Chapters in the World!
The Alpha Theta Iota Chapter attended the first ever virtual 2020 Catalyst Convention on Friday, April 17. The chapter was recognized as one of the top 100 chapters. Monroe's chapter is one of over 1,300 chapters in the world. The recognition is given when a chapter implements successful College Projects and Honors In Action community programs which are reflected in Hallmark Essays. The College Project leadership team worked with the Success Scholars Program Committee developing student support services. The Honors In Action project, incorporated academic research and analysis, leadership roles and development, and an action component. Lead by Professor Scott Rudd, the students examined "In what ways do the prejudices and stigma enforced by hegemonic masculinity impact the mental and physical health of families in impoverished areas of the Rochester community".
In addition, Betty Stewart received Phi Theta Kappa's Distinguished College Administrator. The Phi Theta Kappa officers nominated Betty for the many efforts she extends to make Phi Theta Kappa the best it can be on campus. Highlighting a quote from the student's nomination, " In her role as Director of the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development, she developed and initiated the leadership program known on campus as the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) program which promotes and guides PTK officers to become effective leaders."
Please join me in congratulating Betty, chapter officers, and advisors.
