MCCA Director of Housing and Residence Life, Jamia Danzy, Accepts Exciting New Role

Jamia Danzy will be departing Monroe Community College on June 16, 2023. After six+ years of innovation in Residence Life, and as part of various Student Services committees and groups, she has been appointed the Dean of Students over five public colleges that are part of the newly formed Vermont State University. Jamia will be responsible for ensuring proper direction and consistency in policies and procedures that support student success and graduation in the system. We wish her the very best!

A reception to celebrate Jamia will take place on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM in Building 3, Room 120.  We hope you will stop by and wish Jamia well before she moves on to this exciting new step in her career.

Courtney Owen will assume the role of Acting Director of Housing and Residence Life on July 6, 2023. Courtney has many years of experience working in housing and residence life.  Her most recent position was Interim Director of Housing Residential Life for Association Housing at Finger Lakes Community College.
