MCC Welcomes Guests from Azerbaijan

Today MCC welcomes five college leaders from Azerbaijan, a former republic of the U.S.S.R.

The U.S. Department of State (DOS) is sponsoring this International Visitor Leadership project for five university officials from Azerbaijan. The three-week study tour will introduce the visitors to university administration in the United States, with a particular focus on international education and exchange, as well as continuing education.

The goals of the project are to explore:

*Public and private university administration at the federal, state, and local levels;
*University and nonprofit resources for student and faculty international exchange programs;
*Continuing education programs in the United States and the administration of distance education courses.

The Azerbaijanis' tour includes colleges in Washington D.C., Sacramento, Ann Arbor, Rochester (MCC and SUNY Brockport) and New York city. At MCC, they will meet with Dr. Jeff Bartkovich, vice president, Educational Technology Services; Dick Degus, Executive Assistant to the President; and Tony Felicetti, associate vice president for academic services and enrollment management.
