The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the Board Room on the Brighton Campus on Monday, March 12 and took the following actions:
1. Accepted the interim financial report as of January 31, 2012.
2. Authorized the purchase of items of $20,000 as listed for the month of January 2012.
3. Authorized the transfer of funds totaling $101,480 between accounts.
4. Approved the retirement of Linda Schwartz, Nursing, in accordance with Article 27 of the contractual agreement between MCC and the Faculty Association.
5. Approved the academic calendar for 2014-25.
6. Approved the promotion of associate professors, assistant professors and instructors effective September 1, 2012. (See related Tribune announcement.)
7. Approved the reappointment of non-contract, administrative, faculty and technical assistants/advisors as listed at the ranks and titles indicated for the academic year beginning September 1, 2012 and ending June 30, 2013 for 10-month personnel or August 31, 2013 for 12-month personnel.
8. Honored the MCC ice hockey team on its 2012 National Junior College Athletic Association national championship.
The Board also heard presentations on the college’s master facilities plan, federal student financial aid, the college’s civic and global education projects, and MCC Foundation activities.
This was the first meeting for new trustee Allen K. Williams; he replaces Ilene Flaum. His term runs through June 2017. Mr. Williams’ background is outlined on the MCC Board of Trustees web page.
