Rochester AmeriCorps is recruiting for our 30th year of service in the Rochester Community!

Our education focused program sponsored by MCC is a great fit for anyone looking to make money to help pay for college, contribute to a network of community engaged professionals, make a difference in the lives of Rochester youth and families, and gain skills and experiences for a successful life and career. 

If you are a graduating student, need to take a break from school to help fund your education, looking for a gap year between your associate and bachelor's degree, or are just excited about giving back in direct and measurable ways, Rochester AmeriCorps could be perfect for you!

Our program is seeking applications from qualified candidates who can serve full-time for 48 weeks, Sept. 11, 2023 - Aug. 11, 2024. Accepted members will serve in Rochester schools, pre-collegiate programs, educational nonprofits, and community agencies with the mission of supporting student success and access to higher education. 

Benefits of Service­­ in Rochester AmeriCorps

  • Bi-weekly living allowance stipend of approximately $833.33 (estimated, pre-tax)
  • Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of approximately $6,895 upon completion of the program (1700 hours)
  • National Service forbearance on qualified student loans 
  • Service in AmeriCorps is considered “eligible employment” for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)
  • Individual health insurance
  • Child care subsidy (if eligible) for dependents 12 and under
  • Living allowance not taken into consideration when determining SNAP eligibility
  • Specialized training, professional development, and networking opportunities
