Spread the Word Inclusion Event

The Disability Awareness Club is hosting a Spread the Word Inclusion event. Come join us at the Downtown Campus for food, games, and prizes (while supplies last)!

This year we are very excited about collaborating with several clubs from the Brighton Campus in an effort to expand the message of inclusivity and to create synergy between the two campuses.

Spread the Word Inclusion is an ongoing global effort sponsored by Special Olympics and Best Buddies. Although Spread the Word to End the Word (the “R” word) is still an important message, the new campaign is embracing a broader call to action. The stigma and discrimination faced by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is not limited to a single word – so going forward the campaign is asking everyone to make a pledge for inclusion in your school, community, and workplace.   

Sign the Pledge to Include and be the change – together we can create a world where everyone’s abilities and talents are valued. We hope to see you at the Downtown Campus event on Wednesday, April 12!
