Zoom-bombing by Uninvited Guests

You may have seen the recent warnings about Zoom-bombing, in which an uninvited guest gains access to a host's Zoom meeting or class and begins sharing disruptive content.

MCC has a paid, professional-level subscription to Zoom, and our Technology Services team has turned on "require password" and "generate automatic meeting ID" as the default when scheduling a meeting. This makes each meeting ID different with the password automatically encrypted in the meeting URL.

If for some reason these defaults are not on when you open "Schedule a Meeting" in Zoom, click "Reset to Default Settings" in the upper right corner.

This Zoom blog article includes detailed guidance that you might find helpful for managing your meetings and participants.
