Annual Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) State-Wide Competition
Dear Students, Friends, and Colleagues,
The Engineering Science and Physics department is hosting a mini Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) state-wide competition on Friday, May 3, 2019 at MCC PAC field house.
Competing students have designed and built drones to transport a rescue kit through a series of obstacles and return to the starting point. The UAV must be able to maneuver around and through obstacles, change altitude and carry/deposit a payload to the proper drop zone, then navigate back to the starting zone. It is a simulation of a rescue delivery where human navigation is difficult or dangerous.
Please see the attached pdf for the rules and regulations.
Here is the tentative schedule:
9:00 am - 10:00 am Team Check In and Set Up
10:00 am - 11:30 am Poster Session
11:30 am - Noon Lunch/test run
12:00 pm - 2:00pm UAV competition
2:00 pm - 2:30 pm Awards ceremony
***it all depends on the number of non-MCC participants
Cheers
