Mini Choppers, Cable Cars Among Highlights of Annual Engineering Competition

Stop by the Warshof Conference Center today from 9 am to 1 pm and cheer on student competitors in MCC’s 9th annual High School Engineering Competition. Students representing schools and vocational centers from New York and Connecticut will participate in four events ― SumoBot, Auto Safety (egg crash), Wooden Bridge (structural design) and, for the first time this year, Cable Car.

Seven BOCES teams will also compete in a mini chopper event. Tony Cenzi (Cenzi Custom Cycles of Spencerport), among the country’s premier custom bike builders, will serve as a judge for the event. Cenzi will also display one of his custom-built cycles!

The event is hosted by the MCC’s Engineering Science and Physics Department in partnership with the Applied Technologies Center. Trophies will be awarded to the teams that earn the most points during the events.
