Your Role in MCC Media Relations
Monroe Community College's reputation is a valuable institutional asset worthy of continuous development and safeguarding. As a public institution, MCC is responsible for informing the public about its mission, priorities, initiatives, and accomplishments. We are committed to accuracy and timeliness in disseminating information about the College's programs and activities through the media and other mainstream communication channels.
MCC's Media Relations Policy (PDF) strives to ensure accuracy, consistency, and communication coordination among all college units. The policy also identifies who is authorized to speak for and about the College with the members of the media. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the policy.
All employees are encouraged to coordinate with and seek any necessary assistance from MCC's Community Relations Department and to bring all interviews and media relations opportunities to the attention of Patrick Morris and Veronica Chiesi Brown in advance or as soon as possible following communication with a media representative.
Please also remember that communication via social media may reach media representatives. All aspects of the Media Relations Policy apply to exchanges with media representatives via social media.
Patrick and Veronica are available to answer your questions about the policy. We also welcome ideas for newsworthy stories.
Thank you for your cooperation.
