National Women Support Women Day

National Women Support Women Day is celebrated on December 1 every year. This day allows us all to join together and build upon previous generations’ hard work and determination. “Women for women” is a powerful cliché, but this day is an opportunity that should not be missed. Whether you believe in having a day to focus on only women in the world or that gender should have no limits, you should use this day and make the most of it. If you want to help other women in your life, use this day to let them know you’ll be there for them even when others don’t.

HOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL WOMEN SUPPORT WOMEN DAY

  1. Donate to the cause

Donate to a women's nonprofit organization in your area. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will surely make a difference.

  2. Give out a bouquet

Give a bouquet or any other gift to a woman who has been kind to you or has helped you. This act of kindness demonstrates your support and appreciation for the women in your life.

  3. Write some words of appreciation

5 FACTS WORTH KNOWING ABOUT THE U.S. WOMEN'S RIGHTS MOVEMENT

  1. Women attempting to vote was illegal

Susan B. Anthony, who campaigned for women's right to vote in the United States in the 19th century, was fined $100 after attempting to vote in the 1872 presidential election.

  2. The first wave of demands for suffrage

The first wave of organized protests began when women gathered outside the Seneca Falls Convention in New York State.

  3. Women win the fight to vote

Women won the right to vote in 1920, thanks to a constitutional amendment ratified by Congress and 38 states.

  4. Abolitionist roots

Because of its abolitionist roots, the early women's rights movement was limited to the northern states, and slaveholders in the South derided the women's rights movement at the time, calling it "a manifestation of northern degeneracy."

  5. Rising female literacy

Rising female literacy rates in northern states were fundamental to the movement as they enabled rebellious individuals to express themselves and communicate with others on a large scale.

WHY NATIONAL WOMEN SUPPORT WOMEN DAY IS IMPORTANT

  1. It supports women's empowerment

This day provides an opportunity to raise awareness about women's issues, such as violence against women, discrimination against women, and sexual harassment in the workplace. It also allows us to express our solidarity with them by supporting them financially or morally.

  2. It celebrates women's achievements

We often forget that women have made substantial progress in various fields, like science and politics. We must celebrate their achievements by recognizing their contributions to making our society better than ever!

  3. It is a perfect time to express solidarity

On this day, women stand together and celebrate their achievements, showing gratitude to one another. This puts an end to the misogynistic ideology that women are jealous and envious of each other. Now, it is the time for women to lift, empower, and encourage each other in the face of adversity.
