Auditions for Man of La Mancha
Auditions for Man of La Mancha
Book by Dale Wasserman
Music by Mitch Leigh
Lyrics by Joe Darion
Based on the Novel Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes
When:
Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 3:30pm-5pm
Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 3:30pm-5pm
Where:
MCC's Mainstage Theatre, Building 4, Room 141
Actors will be seen on a first-come-first-served basis and must be currently enrolled MCC students. I strongly suggest actors do not all wait until the second day to audition. Auditions will end promptly at 5 pm on both days. Actors must prepare 16 bars of a song selection from a musical other than MAN OF LA MANCHA and should bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. Some actors may be asked to perform a selection from MAN OF LA MANCHA at their audition, so it is necessary for aspiring cast members to familiarize themselves with music from the show. The soundtrack, in its entirety, is available on YouTube. Actors must also prepare a contemporary dramatic monologue that is no longer than two minutes.
If cast, you will be added to either MUS 142 or THE 142 and will earn 3 credit hours. Rehearsals will be held Mondays-Thursdays from 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm beginning September 14, until Tech. Week when the rehearsals will be Monday-Friday. Performance dates are: Friday, November 17, Saturday, November 18, and Sunday, November 19.
