Lydia Tien on Peer-Led Team Learning


Lydia Tien, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, is the principal author of an article entitled "A Course To Prepare Peer Leaders To Implement a Student-Assisted Learning Method" published in the September issue of the Journal of Chemical Education. The article discusses strategies to train students to become effective peer leaders and facilitators of student learning using methods such as peer-led team learning (PLTL). Lydia has taught a course for PLTL leaders at the University of Rochester and has trained MCC students conducting PLTL workshops in chemistry and biology courses.
