Inclusive Teaching in STEM: A Call for Faculty Collaboration
STEM faculty are invited to collaborate on creating more inclusive and supportive classrooms and work environments at MCC.
MCC is committed to fostering a space where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected, while addressing systemic inequities (Vision 2027 Strategic Plan). The STEM Faculty Diversity, Equity, and Belonging work group has been meeting to share ideas and take action to make our teaching and campus environments more inclusive.
If you are a STEM faculty member stiving to make your classes more welcoming, accessible, and inclisive, please join us! We are focused on addressing these issues in a supportive environment. This is an opportunity to grow personally and professionally, and help make MCC a safe space for all.
In this group, we aim to:
- Promote fairness and equity for marginalized individuals and groups.
- Deepen our understanding of racism, discrimination, and cultural awareness.
- Take steps to make our courses and programs more inclusive, accessible, and supportive.
Next meeting: Friday, November 8th from 12:00 to 12:50 pm in Room 11-309.
