Spring Withdrawal Deadline is April 26!

I'm on sabbatical attempting to write an informational and witty faculty handbook, one chapter of which will be about withdrawals. Therefore I can't afford to waste one single nugget of potential wit on this article. I apologize but I don't want to use up the good stuff prematurely; I don't know how deep my resources run.

The deadline to withdraw a student from a spring course is Saturday, April 26. Please take a few minutes to look at your class list online and, if there are students who are not attending and for whom you do not want to give an "F", withdraw them by Saturday. All students appearing on your class list without a "W" or "AU" grade at the end of the semester will need to be graded regardless of whether they have attended your class or not. It's your choice whether you give "W" grades or "F" grades but leaving them ungraded is not an option. All registered students must have a grade to put closure on their semester and so their transcripts do not show a missing grade.

Please keep in mind that all "W" and "F" grades require a last date of attendance. This date needs to be input when you give the student the grade. You won't be able to input the date after the grade has rolled to history, which it does every ten minutes. So please enter the last date of attendance at the same time you input the "W" or "F" grade. Catching up with all the missing dates and then having to input them in R&R is very time consuming and takes valuable time when we could be working on finding you really awesome rooms for summer and fall classes!

Be sure to get all your withdrawals and last dates of attendance for spring semester input by Saturday, April 26th!
