JoAnn Meaker, Coordinator of Gifted and Talented Education in the Fairport School District, will speak about the gifts and challenges that talented children bring to the classroom. Recognizing characteristic behaviors that indicate a need for differentiated instruction will be covered along with strategies for implementation.

James Coffey, MCC Professor and founder of the Rochester Parent Network, will discuss ways to develop enriched curricula for children utilizing new knowledge in infant brain development and general concepts of self-esteem, play, and the arts.

Judith Benhamou, a certified teacher and Program Coordinator at The Destiny School for Gifted and Talented, has authored a booklet on the subject and will speak about positive ways to manage behavior. With giftedness at one end of the special education spectrum, she will address behaviors typical of the range of students seen in a classroom setting.
