Susan Dodge-Peters Daiss, Memorial Art Gallery and Department of Health Humanities and Bioethics at URMC, will give a talk on portrayals of HIV/AIDS from the 1980’s to the present in posters, photography, and other forms of public art. Her insights into the social and political contexts of these artworks will show the impacts of the disease on patients, family members, and health care providers.

Lisa Cook, Rosemarie Jaouen, and Jessica Mustafa, participants in the Visions and Voices program, led by Elizabeth Johnston, Professor of English, sponsored by the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester, will read from fiction and poetry exploring the experiences of cancer survivors.

Cristin Finch, Professor of Health Studies, will share results from research on cultural influences on images of women’s bodies, and MCC students who developed strategies to counteract negative images.
