Maureen McIntosh, VaPA adjunct instructor and 13 WHAM-TV’s morning news director, took her Techniques of Television II students on a tour of 13WHAM, Fox Rochester and CW Rochester. The WHAM employees talked about their start in television, what it took to get to where they are and some career options available in television production. The students ended the tour with a behind-the-scenes view of the noon newscast on 13WHAM-TV and saw first hand individuals working in the positions of director, producer, assistant director, teleprompter, camera operator and on-air talent.
The Television II class is VaPA’s most advanced of the TV production courses in thevisual communications degree program. It gives students the opportunity to crew and direct their own productions. VaPA’s state-of-the-art high definition TV studio is located in Building 4.
