Yes, ladies. It's time again for spring cleaning. The American Association of Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) is here to remind you that as you clean out your closets, please remember that there are women in our community who could benefit from your donations. During the week of March 20th-24th, we will be sponsoring our annual clothing drive for the YWCA's Working Wardrobe.
Since 1992 the YWCA Working Wardrobe has provided, at no charge, new or next-to-new professional clothing for income-eligible women who are seeking employment. All they need is a referral from an agency, job-training program, or school. Image consultants assist in selecting appropriate professional outfits and accessories. The Wardrobe also carries a selection of cosmetics and hair care products.
Items that will be most useful to the program include:
Items suitable for job interviews (suits, skirts, blouses, blazers and dresses)
Accessories such as jewelry, scarves, handbags and pantyhose
New cosmetics and toiletry items, such as hair care products
Monetary donations are also accepted to enhance the program
All donations should be gently used and must be clean. Donations can be dropped off to the following locations:
Brighton Campus:
Tracy Archie, Admissions
Jennifer Kinslow, Counseling and Advising Center
Damon City Campus:
Vilma Morrow, Student Services Center
Public Safety Training Facility:
Teresa Schichler, Homeland Security Management Institute
Applied Technologies Center:
Kristy Mooney-Graves, Applied Technologies
If you have questions, please contact Vilma Morrow at 262-1746. Thanks!
