Matthew Fox Named AACC 2025 Dale P. Parnell Distinguished Faculty
Professor Matthew Fox, Professor of English has been named, an American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) 2025 Dale P. Parnell Distinguished Faculty honoree.
This award recognizes faculty who go above and beyond in supporting students both within and beyond the classroom. Professor Fox is a dedicated educator and leader in developmental education, curriculum innovation, and student-centered placement strategies. His recent contributions include co-developing Monroe Community College’s self-directed placement process for English, and helping to advance the successful integration of Transitional Studies and English/Philosophy departments.
In addition to his teaching and curriculum leadership, Professor Fox has played a pivotal role in faculty professional development, facilitating workshops on inclusive teaching practices, placement reform, and student engagement. His leadership extends beyond MCC, as he has shared his expertise at national conferences and contributed to statewide initiatives in developmental education.
Professor Fox will be recognized at the AACC conference in April 2025 during the David R. Pierce Closing Lecture honoring Outstanding Alumni and Distinguished Faculty.
