Mental Health First Aid - Final Training

MCC's Counseling, Disability, & Health Services department will be offering the final Mental Health First Aid Training opportunity for faculty and staff during Faculty Senate Professional Development week.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an eight-hour course that teaches participants ways to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health illnesses and substance use disorders.  The training provides the necessary skills to provide initial help and support to others.

After the course, attendees will be able to:

  • Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges.
  • Understand how to interact with a person in crisis and connect them with help.
  • Use self-care tools and techniques.
