Tutoring & Academic Assistance Center (TAAC) Hosts Final Paper Planning & Writing Support Event

The Tutoring & Academic Assistance Center (TAAC) will be hosting a Chill, Plan, and Writing event next Thursday, May 8, to help students prepare for their final papers. More details can be found below:

  • Date: Thursday, 5/8
  • Location: Brighton Campus, room 11-106 (TAAC)
  • Time: 11am to 1pm
  • Pizza will be provided to those who participate!
  • Appointments: No appointments are necessary! Walk-ins are encouraged.

What can students expect?

The TAAC will have an Academic Coach and Writing Consultant available to work hands on with students in preparation for their final papers. Students can expect the following during this time period:

  • 11am to 11:30am: Students will check-in, grab a seat, and start brainstorming ideas.
  • 11:30am to 12pm: Our Academic Coach will host a workshop focused on time management, tips on what to study, how to study using active learning strategies, and how to create a finals study plan.
  • 12pm to 12:30pm: Our Writing Consultant will host a workshop focused on final paper preparation. Including planning and engaging in the writing process, essay structure, and avoiding plagiarism through proper paraphrasing, quoting, and citation of sources.
  • 12:30pm to 1pm: Students will continue to reflect, write, and ask questions using the tools provided in each workshop, while receiving ongoing support from our Academic Coaches and Writing Consultants.
  • 1pm: Event concludes but students are encouraged to come back to work with our Academic Coaches and Writing Consultants in a 1:1 setting as they finalize their final papers.
