Great Mysteries of the Earth (GEO 103) fulfills the Critical Thinking Competency & more GEO/GEG Advising Tips!

A few Geosciences updates and reminders for fall 2024 advising:

  1. Great Mysteries of the Earth (GEO 103) has recently been approved to fulfill the Critical Thinking and Scientific Reasoning (CTRN) competency.  GEO 103 is offered online (CRN 17429) during the first half of the semester (8/26-10/15).
  2. Astronomy (GEO 105) fulfills the SUNY Natural Sciences requirement but only when taken with Astronomy lab (GEO 115).  Both the lecture and lab are offered fully on-campus and online.
  3. Physical Geography (GEG 101) fulfills the SUNY Natural Sciences requirement but only when taken with Physical Geography lab (GEG 100).  Both the lecture and lab are offered hybrid and online.
  4. Oceanography (GEO 106) is an online elective within the Earth Science for Teachers Microcredential and for all interested students.  GEO 106 is offered as a late-start (10/14-12/16) online (CRN 25957) course.
  5. Physical Geology (GEO 101) fulfills the SUNY Natural Sciences requirement.  GEO 101 is offered fully on-campus (with local field trips during labs!), online, and late-start online.
