Kristen Reed Provides Outstanding Support

The directors of the Department of Education’s pre-collegiate programs (Carmelita Brown-Wallace, Upward Bound; Susan Gunther, LPP; and Donna Augustine, STEP) are pleased to announce that Kristen Reed has been unanimously selected as the first recipient of the Kate Smith Marhatta Award. This award was founded in 2007 to recognize individuals who provide outstanding support to the MCC pre-collegiate programs.

Kristen was chosen as a result of her flexibility, energy, and her on-going supportive nature when dealing with the "out of the box" needs of each program. Her efforts certainly do not go unnoticed. Her positive attitude and outstanding customer service enables the pre-collegiate programs to provide the services and activities to empower over 300 middle and high school students.

Kristen’s name will be added to a perpetual plaque that hangs in the pre-collegiate suite at DCC, in addition to being recognized at the Upward Bound "End of the Year Celebration" on Wednesday, June 4th. Please send her your congratulations.
