TCC: Save the Date for Faculty Consultant Training (January 16)

The Teaching and Creativity Center will host a consultation training on teaching observations and effective consultation practices. The training is open to faculty and professional staff members and is scheduled for January 16, from 12 pm to 2 pm, in an online format.  The consultant’s role includes observing colleagues’ teaching practices in various classroom settings, providing effective feedback to enhance teaching effectiveness, and suggesting strategies to promote student engagement and a sense of community.

I would like to share the description of the faculty consultant training and information about our facilitator for the training. If you are interested in registering, please email me by January 6, 2025. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Teaching Observations and Effective Consultation Practices:

What are the steps involved in teaching observations and follow up consultations? In this experiential session, you will be guided through the steps required for a successful and impactful classroom observation and a well-known model for effective faculty consultations that take place after a teaching observation. This consultation method promotes deep listening skills and how to ask powerful questions that prompt faculty reflection, which leads to action.
