STEP Welcomes 42 Students for Saturdays at the College Program
On Saturday, March 1st, the Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) welcomed 42 middle and high school students on campus for our Saturdays at the College program. Students participated in a variety of interactive stations, including a hands-on biology demonstration featuring gel electrophoresis and a geosciences scavenger hunt.
A special thank you to Professors Jessica Barone, Amanda Colosimo, and Julie Babulski, as well as the faculty members of the Biology department, for your time and commitment to empowering the next generation.
STEP is funded by a New York State Education Department grant with the goal of increasing the number of historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students who are prepared to enter college, while also improving their participation rate in mathematics, science, technology, health-related fields, and licensed professions.
