CASH stands for Creating Assets, Savings, and Hope. It is a community-led coalition to provide tax assistance and financial referral services to low-income individuals and families in the Greater Rochester area. MCC has maintained a strong partnership with the CASH program through Service-Learning. In Spring 2011 we need YOU!
We only have a few courses signed up to offer the opportunity of working with CASH as a part of their syllabus. CASH is in great need of volunteers, as they are almost exclusively run by volunteers. MCC students have provided a great deal of support to CASH in the past, and we are hoping to continue this contribution in the Spring semester.
The CASH project is a great fit for any BUS, ACC, or ECO course (especially those that deal directly with taxes or personal finance). You can find more information in the attachment, or by contacting our office at 262-1713.
Thank you, and please consider adding the CASH program to your curriculum for 2011. You won’t be disappointed!
