News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting


The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center on the Brighton Campus on Monday, June 3 and took the following actions:

1.      Accepted the interim financial report as of March 31 and April 30, 2013.

2.      Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the month of April 2013.

3.      Approved the operating budget for the fiscal year September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2014 in the amount of $124,300,000.

4.      Authorized John L. Bartolotta, Chair of the Finance and Facilities Committee, or Kenneth G. Goode, Chair of the Board of Trustees, to approve budget transfers on behalf of the Board of Trustees through the end of the budget year, August 31, 2013.

5.      Authorized the County of Monroe to convey a permanent easement of 0.297 acre to the Monroe County Water Authority in connection with the Building 21 project.

6.      Approved the college’s password policy to protect the security and privacy of college and personal information.

7.      Authorized the transfer of funds between accounts.

8.      Approved the appointment of Kimberly McKinsey-Mabry as Interim Dean, Academic Services – DCC, effective May 1, 2013.

9.      Approved the appointment of Debra Dwyer as Interim Director, Public Safety, effective May 20, 2013.

10.  Approved the appointment of Christopher Piro as Interim Assistant Director, Public Safety, effective May 20, 2013.

11.  Approved a certificate in cyber security, subject to approval by the State University of New York.

12.  Approved a certificate in agricultural and food studies, subject to approval by the State University of New York.

13.  Honored Student Trustee Susan M. Fenn for her leadership and service to the college.

14.  Honored the MCC Tribunes women’s lacrosse team on its outstanding season, culminating in winning the NJCAA national championship.

15.  Entered into executive session pursuant to Public Officers Law Section 105, subsections f and h.


16. Approved the compensation of President Anne M. Kress, effective September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2013.

The Board also heard a brief presentation from MCC Foundation Chair David Mack, who highlighted the success of the MCC Foundation's events in raising increasing amounts for scholarships. Mr. Mack also noted that the MCC Foundation endowment recently surpassed the $10 million mark.
