Commencement Message of Gratitude from Dr. Burt-Nanna

Commencement for the Monroe Community College class of 2023 was a true celebration of the graduates’ hard work and dedication. There was applause, calls of recognition from family and friends, and even some tears of joy to mark the accomplishment. Our pride in our students’ achievements was on full display. There was also another type of pride I felt throughout the ceremony. It was the pride in our MCC family and all who had worked so hard to make the event a tremendous success. The efforts of so many of our colleagues to make commencement a wonderful memory not only for the graduates but for their families and friends was remarkable—yet they made it look effortless.

Commencement reminded me yet again that at MCC we are committed to being Together as One. There is excellence everywhere at MCC and I am grateful to all, especially the Commencement planning committee, who helped to shine such a bright light on our outstanding graduates. Thank you.
