The SUNY COIL Center has accepted three of our faculty members as Latin America Academy Fellows in the Mexico-USA Multistate COIL Program (MCP).
CONGRATULATIONS TO:
Marisol Galarza-Ruiz (World Languages and Cultures)
Demario Brantley (Sociology)
Sherry Tshibangu (Business)
The Mexico-USA Multistate COIL Program (MCP) is a grant-funded initiative seeking to increase collaboration between 18 Mexican and 18 US colleges (from SUNY, University of Washington and University of Minnesota) through COIL-enhanced courses that link students, professors, and staff in cross cultural assignments, work, and dialogue.
These three faculty were chosen from a competitive proposal process whereby they partnered with a Mexican faculty member to jointly propose a COIL module for their two courses. This honor is a testament to their enthusiasm for innovating one of their courses with the high-impact practices global learning and collaborative learning.
If you are interested in learning more about international travel opportunities through COIL and incorporating this high impact practice into one of your courses, please contact Gale Lynch, Director of Global Education and International Services (glynch6@monroecc.edu).
