TCC: Spring 2025 Open Classroom Week- Call for Faculty Participants

New this year, the Teaching and Creativity Center has extended Open Classroom Week from one week to two weeks to better accommodate faculty schedules. This semester, Open Classroom Week will take place from March 3 to March 14.

We invite faculty to open their classrooms and participate in this enriching experience. If you’d like to volunteer for Spring 2025 Open Classroom Week, please register by filling out the form or email Melis Kural at mkural@monroecc.edu by February 24.

I strongly encourage both new and seasoned faculty to take part. Open Classroom Week provides a valuable opportunity for faculty, professional staff, and administrators to gain insight into our students' experiences and explore the diverse teaching and pedagogical practices of our colleagues.

Here’s what past participants had to say:

Amy Betti, World Languages and Culture: "Participating in Open Classroom Week as a visitor to an online class gave me the chance to experience online learning from a student’s perspective. Although I’ve taught online for years, seeing how another instructor organizes modules and communicates with students gave me fresh ideas for my own online instruction."

Mark Sample, AHPS: "I have always opened all of my classes during Open Classroom Week. I like that people I know—but who have never seen me teach—have the opportunity to do so. I wish more people participated in this program, as it benefits us all by allowing us to interact and engage in what we do for our students."

A separate announcement will be shared in the Daily Tribune for those interested in visiting classes. If you have any questions, please contact Melis Kural at mkural@monroecc.edu.
