2023 SUNY OER Services Impacts Grant Program

SUNY OER Services has announced the opening of the 2023 Request for Proposals for the OER Impact Grants Program! These peer-reviewed awards will be allocated to selected campuses to support significant advances in Open Education Resources (OER) adoption, scaling, and sustainability in support of student success.  There are two levels of grant funding available - up to $15,000 and up to $30,000, and grants can be used to support new OER activities supporting affordable learning options including:

  • Adoption of OER for high-enrollment, gen ed and gateway courses, or those with highest Drop/Fail/Withdrawal rates
  • Adaptation and Creation of OER, such as open textbooks, courses, and ancillary materials
  • Professional development supporting OER and open pedagogy

Anyone interested in applying for a grant must complete an MCC Intent to Submit form and contact the Grants office at grants@monroecc.edu, 685-6012.
Grants may only be submitted by the MCC Office of Strategic Resource Development and Grants Management.

Lumen Circles Fellowships will allow you to learn about effective teaching practices from experienced professionals and develop skills that will make you a more effective teacher. The program (no cost to SUNY faculty) is designed to be practical and hands-on, giving you the opportunity to apply what you learn in your classrooms and courses.

Whether you're an experienced teacher looking to refine your skills, or a new faculty member seeking guidance and support, we can help.

The themes offered are: Active Learning, Belonging and Inclusive Teaching Fundamentals, Course Design for Student Success, Evidence-Based Teaching, Online Teaching Foundation, and Teaching with OER & OER Enabled Pedagogy

Many of our MCC faculty have already participated in the program and come from several different departments including Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Business, ESOL, and others.
