MCC Graduate Earns Tau Sigma National Honor Society Scholarship
The Tau Sigma National Honor Society, an academic honor society for transfer students, awarded MCC graduate and current Binghamton University senior Victoria Perez a scholarship for outstanding service to the community and her academic achievement. Victoria was one of only 62 students nationwide to receive this scholarship. She is currently pursuing a double major in Chemistry and Music Performance.
Among her accomplishments that earned Victoria the scholarship were serving as president of Binghamton’s alpha omega chapter of Tau Sigma and being a Student Association (SA) Congress Representative for Susquehanna, a living community at Binghamton University. While a member of SA, she wrote legislation calling for suicide prevention and postvention. Last year, Victoria also presented research on light-driven reactions with single-chain nanoparticles at the Inter-American Photochemical Society conference in Florida.
Victoria is the daughter of Margarita Medina-Perez, who works in MCC’s Curriculum and Program Development Department.
