MCC Presenters at the MSCHE Annual Conference

On December 5th, MCC Psychology program student Jennifer Ames presented, “Healthy and Equitable Futures: The Change We Wanted to See” during the Student Poster Session of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education's (MSCHE) Annual Conference. Jennifer's research focuses on strategies the Greater Rochester Health Foundation uses to promote racial equity and parental involvement to advance whole child health for Black and Latino children ages 0 to 8 in Monroe County.

At the same conference, MCC faculty and staff presented, “Promoting Student Success through General Education Redesign.” The presentation focused on redesigning curriculum to facilitate equitable outcomes and on the process of developing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice general education courses.

Presenters included:

  • Natasha Chen, Associate Professor of Sociology and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Teaching and Learning Workgroup Chairperson
  • Tracey Graney, Professor of Biology and former Curriculum Committee Chair
  • Susan Hall, Associate Director, Curriculum and Assessment

The MSCHE Annual Conference was held in Philadelphia, PA, and over 1300 higher education professionals attended.
