The New Core Competence of the Community College by David Jacobson

Community colleges are in a position to make team-based work organization, education partnerships, and structured peer learning central to the way they do business first by anchoring overlapping networks expressly designed to support the implementation of these practices across a variety of organizations. They can then build a core competence around these practices by deliberately and proactively creating mechanisms that transfer learning and build linkages across both networks and, ambitiously, across the education and workforce development sides of the community college house. Read about this growing movement in the July Leadership Abstracts.
